A Century of British Horology Revived

The story of Duckworth Prestex begins in 1869 with Prestons of Bolton, once one of the United Kingdom's most respected family jewellery and watchmaking dynasties. In 1924, Gordon Duckworth created the Prestex brand to produce high-grade British wristwatches and chronographs that rivalled the best of Switzerland.

Nearly a century later, his grandson Neil Duckworth — a legendary watch industry veteran who famously introduced TAG Heuer to the British market in the 1980s — revived the family brand. His mission: deliver authentic British heritage designs with premium materials and honest pricing.

"The Parker isn't a modern fashion watch trying to look old; it is an authentic replica of an original 1935 Prestex rectangular watch from our family archives. We kept the stepped Art Deco case geometry, the distinctive Bolton typography, and the small seconds subdial, while upgrading the glass to double-bridge sapphire and the heartbeat to Swiss Ronda precision." — Neil Duckworth, Founder & Managing Director, Duckworth Prestex

The Parker Classic captures that golden age of 1930s British tailoring, when wristwatches were considered works of sculptural art designed to accompany bespoke evening wear and tailored lounge suits.

Verified British Owner Reviews

Experiences from collectors across the UK who wear the Prestex Parker Classic.

★★★★★

"The rectangular case is breathtakingly elegant. The 24mm width sounds compact on paper, but because of the 40mm lug-to-lug, it commands attention on the wrist while remaining completely refined. The midnight blue dial has a rich sunray shimmer that catches the light like a sapphire."

"I have always loved the Cartier Tank aesthetic, but I wanted something with genuine British soul. Knowing Neil Duckworth resurrected his grandfather's 1920s company made this an instant purchase. The 7.5mm thickness is unbeatable under French cuffs."

"The small seconds subdial ticking smoothly at 6 o'clock gives the dial balanced vintage poise. At £169 on this direct workshop allocation, you simply cannot find a better-finished rectangular dress watch anywhere in Great Britain."

Common Questions Answered

Transparent details on the Prestex Parker Classic allocation and ownership experience.

Duckworth Prestex is expanding its collector community across the United Kingdom in 2026. A strictly limited allocation batch of 50 serialized timepieces is made directly accessible to horology readers without boutique markups, distributor margins, or luxury retail overheads.

The watch is powered by a high-grade Swiss Made Ronda Quartz 1069 SM calibre. It offers gold-plated brass components, exceptional battery autonomy (up to 3 years), and a discrete small seconds subdial at the 6 o'clock position.

The case measures 24 mm in width by 31 mm in case length, with an overall lug-to-lug span of 40 mm and an ultra-thin 7.5 mm thickness. Because of its rectangular footprint, it wears with the presence of a 36-38 mm round watch while remaining much slimmer and more tailored.

The Parker Classic is rated for 50 metres / 5 ATM water resistance with internal gasket seals on the crown and caseback. It is designed to handle rain, splashes, hand-washing, and everyday moisture with complete confidence.

All allocations are sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm with complimentary full transit insurance and signature verification upon receipt. UK delivery is completely free of charge.
